Pregnant women take better care of their skin

Two out of three pregnant women pay more attention to their skin during pregnancy, not hesitating to multiply the use of skin care products, natural oils and massages to prevent possible skin problems connected with their condition.


To mark the rebirth of the Mustela 9 Months Mustela become Maternity, well-known brand of future mums revealed figures from a study on beauty habits of 400 women 20 to 42 years, speakers 3 months or more.

If 5% of them say they do nothing to care, the vast majority puts one or more means implemented to maintain the beauty of their skin care products applied (67%) and natural oils (42 %) on the body, automassages (30%), food supplements (22%) ... They are well 65% said pay more attention to their skin before pregnancy. Their main concerns? More than 9 out of 10 pregnant women fear at least one physical discomfort related to pregnancy (the top 3 consisting of stretch marks, sagging skin and swollen legs) and at least 1 of 3 is affected by stretch marks, itchy and very dry skin. Problem: nearly a quarter of pregnant women admit using the same care products than before pregnancy. Now it is essential to adopt specifically formulated skin care of pregnant women: not only because the sharp rise in certain hormones directly impact production and the smooth operation of fibroblasts (skin support fibers), but also because of the effort required to stretch the skin during pregnancy, especially in the abdomen and chest.
